At the turn of the century, the Chaoshan region suffers a famine
and people flock to the temples toseek help from Buddha. Ahping,
a local girl, accompanies her mother to fufill their promise toBuddha,
but a local tyrant called Iron Palm takes a fancy to her and abducts
her to a cave. Passingby, the martial arts master Wu and his son,
jiatai, spring to her rescue, but Wu is killed by IronPalm. With
his last breath, he urges Jiatai to find performers from Fanglan,
telling him that hewon't beat Iron Palm until he masters the kungfu
of the invincible legs. As he blames himself forhis boldness he
finds Fengni in danger and with all his strength he saves her. The
two fall in love.
From her he learns that her father is the master of the invicible
legs technique.
Jiatai asks Fengni's father to teach him, but unexpectedly, Iron
Palm chases him and a fight starts.
Fengin's father is killed. After a narrow escape, Jiatai and Fengni
hide deep in a forest where they steadfastly practice the invicible
legs technique.
At last, they kill the evil Iron Palm.
